The IntelliProp IPP-SA110A-BR, SATA Bridge with Sandbox IP core provides SATA compliant connections to a SATA host and a SATA device. The host and device connections are speed independent allowing for speed bridging on the SATA connection. Internal visibility to frame contents allows customers to intercept, analyze or manipulate frames on the SATA connection.

IPP-SA110A-BR SATA 1-to-1 Speed Bridge with Sandbox Applications
The Sandbox feature of the SATA Speed Bridge may be utilized with customer specific algorithms to:
- Allow encryption of data on a drive, thereby preventing unauthorized access
- Ability to block certain commands from reaching the drive (for example write blocking)
- Compress data whereby less space is utilized on the drive while maintaining high performance
IPP-SA110A-BR SATA 1-to-1 Speed Bridge with Sandbox IP Core Features
- Allows users to intercept data between the SATA Host and Device (Bump in the Wire)
- Fully compliant to SATA Gen-1, Gen-2, and Gen-3 industry specifications
- Industry proven and compliant SATA interfaces
- Automatically performs OOB and speed negotiation
- Independent speed negotiation on each SATA connection
- Visibility to all frames allows customers to develop value-added features

Functional Description
The IPP-SA110A-BR is designed to be connected to a SATA-compliant device application and SATA-compliant host PC to send and receive Out of Band (OOB) signals, primitives and SATA Frame Information Structures (FIS). The SATA Speed Bridge core interfaces to the customer sandbox logic with FIFOs for data movement and a Frame Transfer Logic for frame control. This allows for efficient data movement between the cut-through FIFOs and the SATA Cores.
